Corn oil processing, the materials are corn germ, is the
embryo of a corn plant, distinct from the nutrients in the endosperm, the oil
content of the germ is about 85% of the seed.
Corn oil process, corn kernels are dehulled and crushed. Oil
is expelled from the germ use pressing, can yield 50% of the germ oil. The remaining
oil using the solvent extraction. The corn germ oil in the solvent is heated to
vaporize the volatile solvent, the solvent will be recycled.
Then extracted oil as crude corn oil, the meal is
processed for animal feed.
Corn oil refining process contains corn crude oil, degumming, alkali refining,
washing, drying, alkali refining oil, declorizing, filter, decolorizing oil,
crystallization, maturing, dewaxing oil, deodor, cooling.
The
main equipment of corn oil refining are disc oil separator, decolorizing tower, filter,
crystallization tank, maturing tank, deodor tower. In the deodor section, the
temperature in the tower is need to controlled about 230 centigrade. The
finished oil after deodor section must be cooled, avoid corn oil color
reversion. In order to improve corn oil yield, low product cost, the alkali oil
acid value must be control a certain range. The filter aid adopt diatomite can
improve dewax effect.
