With some 18% fat in the soy bean, around 10-14% oil can be expelled mechanically. All 18% can be extracted chemically through a hexane process. Soybean oil extraction line includes cleaning, dehulled,expanding and conditioned into a thin flake before extraction section. Soybean oil extraction is by hexane solvent, the extracted flakes are carried by a sealed conveyor to be desolventized in enclosed extractor, the solvent is removed from the soy oil in rising evaporators and with vacuum distillation, the solvent is recovered from the meal.
